How do Renault Spark Plugs Work?
Spark plugs come in many different shapes, sizes and specifications, they play a pivotal role in the combustion cycle and as such are important to replace at the manufactures set interval.
There are two key functions that spark plugs carry out:
- Create a spark in order to ignite the air/fuel mixture in the engine cylinder
- Maintain their own ideal temperature to create an effective spark and therefore the most efficient burn
Renault Spark Plugs achieve combustion by submitting an electrical current to the fuel/air mixture, as a result of this spark a chemical reaction is initiated in the engine cylinder, this sudden release of stored energy, now converted to kinetic energy, is used to push the engine’s pistons down in a set order to allow your engine to cycle. It is of utmost importance that your Renault Spark Plugs are replaced before their condition deteriorates to avoid poor efficiency through misfires and /or poor starting and running.
